Parallelogram bisector calculator
Bisector
A bisector is a ray emanating from the top of an angle and dividing this angle into two equal angles. You can also define the bisector as the geometrical location of the points inside the corner equidistant from the sides of this angle.
Parallelogram
Parallelogram — is a quadrangle in which the opposite sides are pairwise parallel, that is, they lie on parallel lines. Particular cases of a parallelogram are a rectangle, a square, and a rhombus.
Parallelogram bisector calculator
The bisector of a parallelogram divides one of the angles for parallel lines and secant (which are involved in the construction of the parallelogram), and since these angles add up to 180 °, then at the intersection with the bisector of the adjacent angle we get a perpendicular (90 °). This is the main property of the bisectors of parallelograms and other figures having two parallel sides, for example, trapezoid. You can find the bisector in the parallelogram through the side and the angle from the triangle obtained during its construction. To do this, it is necessary to draw a second bisector, which in combination will be the height in this triangle. Given that the triangle is isosceles, based on the equality of angles at the base, its base-bisector will be the double leg of the resulting rectangular triangle, in which the hypotenuse is the side of the parallelogram, and the angle is half the angle of the parallelogram.
