Parallelogram/Rhombus Height Calculator | Formulas
Height
Height in geometry - a segment of a perpendicular dropped from the top of a geometric figure to its base or to the continuation of the base. By height is also meant the length of this segment.
Parallelogram
Parallelogram — is a quadrangle in which the opposite sides are pairwise parallel, that is, they lie on parallel lines. Particular cases of a parallelogram are a rectangle, a square, and a rhombus.
Parallelogram/Rhombus height calculator
Are you having trouble finding the height of a parallelogram or rhombus? Our free Parallelogram/Rhombus Height Calculator can help you quickly and easily calculate the height of these shapes.
Formula
Both for the rhombus and for the parallelogram, the height can be found by the ratio of the sine of the angle α (opposite the height) and the side, as shown in the following formula.
The formula for finding the height of a rhombus is:
h = asin(\alpha)Where:
- h is the height of the parallelogram or rhombus
- a is the area of the side of the parallelogram or rhombus
- α is the angle between sides of the parallelogram or rhombus
